DESCRIPTION:Join fishery biologist Michael Reichmuth on this talk and walk discussing
the coho salmon life cycle and, in particular, the changes salmon undergo
during their freshwater to saltwater transition. The walk will include a
visit to our downstream migrant trap where participants will view our
current monitoring program at work. We will also discuss the salmon habitat
in lower Redwood Creek and what changes the National Park Service has made
in order to improve coho salmon habitat in this area. Meet at Muir Beach
parking lot, Pacific Way, Mill Valley, CA 94965. Rain or shine. Group limit
is 25. Reservations required, 415-388-2596. If you need to cancel, please
call to cancel, so that waitlisted people can attend. Part of the GGNP
Endangered Species Big Year, a race against time to see and save the
Park’s endangered species. See http://wildequity.org for more
information.\n\nThe Golden Gate National Parks contains more endangered
species than any other National Park in continental North America. This is
certainly cause for celebration, but also for concern. Take part in the
2010 GGNP Endangered Species Big Year and get to know these species while
helping them recover. It is free. Signup for the Big Year at
http://wildequity.org and go to the calendar to see the upcoming Big Year
 trips and activities\n
