 lengthy budget stalemates and refocus our state government on improving 
 results. \n\nOur new Assembly Speaker, John Perez, has asked the 
 legislature to consider placing California Forward's reforms before voters 
 in November to make state government more accountable and effective.\n\nWe 
 are very pleased that Sunne McPeak, former Contra Costa County Supervisor 
 and CEO of the Bay Area Council, has agreed to join Assembly Member Nancy 
 Skinner for this important conversation. As a board member of California 
 Forward, Sunne was actively involved in crafting the reform proposals that 
 take the best budget practices from successful businesses and other states
