DESCRIPTION:Meet the Change is an open invitation to change-makers from across the
spectrum: teachers and students, social workers and social entrepreneurs,
artists and lawyers, investors and innovators, organizers, educators, and
agitators - anyone and everyone seeking co-conspirators for activating
their Jewish and social justice values. Each event present the efforts of a
featured change-maker while encouraging attendees to connect with one
another around their own ideas, desires, and plans for making
change.\n\nOur SF launch event will feature Joshua Kahn Russell, Grassroots
Action Manager at the Rainforest Action Network and trainer for the Ruckus
Society. Joshua was a lead organizer for the largest civil disobedience on
Climate Change in U.S. history, helped coordinate mass actions of thousands
at the United Nations, and helped build national coalitions and networks
around ecological sanity and racial justice. At 26 years old, he has spent
over half his life criss-crossing the continent to wage winning campaigns,
train activists, and help build compelling movements for change. Read more
 about Josh: http://joshuakahnrussell.wordpress.com/about/\n\nJoshua will
use mixed media and popular-education formats to lead the group on an
interactive journey through U.S. social movement history and strategy, with
examples and stories from his own work. He will teach a set of tools that
you can use in your own work, and a framework for how to make grassroots
change. Storytelling, video, photo, games, & exercises are just a few of
the ways you'll be engaged. Be ready to meet one other, get up and move,
have fun, and learn a lot!\n
