DESCRIPTION:El poema para pacha mama/ A poem for Mother Earth, is designed as a 
 community healing and sharing of  poetry, spoken word, music and ceremony 
 with migrant Raza and indigenous youth, adults and elders in poverty 
 focused on the impact of climate change on indigenous peoples and poor 
 peoples of color, planned for the weekend of earth day April 2010-on 
 Sunday, April 25th The event is co-sponsored by and will be held at The 
 Galleria de la Raza – an artist space in the mission district of San 
 Francisco.\n\n \n\nThe event will be like all of POOR’s work be 
 intertribal,multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-lingual and 
 multi-generational, featuring up to 20 members of the Poetas POBRES 
 proyecto/Po Poets Project of POOR Magazine as well as indigenous/raza youth 
 scholars from Southern Ute Boys and Girls Club in Ignacio, Colorado who 
 participated in a native hip hop workshop conducted by Indigenous Peoples 
 Media Project of POOR Magazine, SNAG magazine and Four Rivers Institute . 
 The event will focus on the impact ( and healing from) of climate change on 
 poor indigenous peoples who have been stewards of the earth since the 
 beginning of time and now must deal with the ailing earth left for its 
 current and future generations.  \n
