DESCRIPTION:Coho Salmon Habitat Restoration\nSaturday, February 27, 2010, 10:00
a.m.-1:00 p.m.: \nFor thousands of years, coho salmon and steelhead have
come back to Muir Beach. Coming up from the ocean they travel up Redwood
Creek to spawn and die, thus nourishing the ancient redwood forest. Now,
these species are on the brink of extinction. Join Bob Flasher of the
National Parks Conservancy at Muir Beach for a day of restoration work to
improve the habitat for these species. Rain or Shine. Dress in warm layers,
wear sturdy shoes and bring lots of friends! We provide snacks, tools and
gloves. Meet at Muir Beach Parking Lot at Pacific Way, Muir Beach, Mill
Valley, CA 94965. RSVP Required: RSVP within the trip information at
http://wildequity.org/events. \nPart of the GGNP Endangered Species Big
Year, a race against time to see and save the Park’s endangered species.
See http://wildequity.org for more information.\n\n\nThe Golden Gate
National Parks contains more endangered species than any other National
Park in continental North America. This is certainly cause for celebration,
but also for concern. Take part in the 2010 GGNP Endangered Species Big
Year and get to know these species while helping them recover. It is free.
Signup for the Big Year at http://wildequity.org and go to the calendar to
see the upcoming Big Year trips and activities.\n\n
