DESCRIPTION:Saturday, January 30, 1:00- 4:00 PM\nA Workshop on Fund Raising\nWith
George Taylor\nCommunity-Based Fund Raising:\nSupporting Your Cause Easily
and Effectively\nIn these difficult economic times, many groups and
non-profits are turning to a community-based fund raising strategy. This
method focuses on developing your core community, and it allows your staff
and volunteers to do what they do best: educate people about your mission
and inspire them to help.\nFundraising by this method leads to sustainable,
predictable results, and importantly, since 75-80% of donations come from
individuals, it's where the money is.\nAt this event, you will learn:\nWhat
Community-Based Fund Raising Is\nHow It Can Help Your Organization\nHow
Your Organization Can Raise Money through this Method\nCome and learn from
a skilled fund-raiser and change-maker, and share the experience with
others from Marin's progressive community. This promises to be an
enlightening and worthwhile afternoon.\nMarin Peace & Justice Coalition

co-founded a local non-profit and helped raise one million dollars for it
over eight years (with a lot of board an staff help.) Last year he
consulted with over twenty small groups on fund raising and planning. He
teaches small non-profits and progressive organizations how to organize
