DESCRIPTION:Ali Abunimah is co-founder of the Electronic Intifada and author of "One
Country: A Bold Proposal to End the Israeli-Palestinian Impasse." Back in
the bay area by popular demand, Abunimah just participated in the Gaza
Freedom March, in Cairo, Egypt, along with 1400 others -- one of the
largest international solidarity actions ever. \n\nThe aim of the march was
to draw attention to the one-year anniversary of the Israeli government's
assault on Gaza, which killed 1400 Palestinians, and to call for ending the
siege of Gaza which is leaving Gazans with little food, contaminated water,
and no supplies to rebuild their homes. \n\nAbunimah's talk will be
followed by a Q and A. The event is wheelchair accessible and ASL
interpreted. There is plenty of free parking, and the North Berkeley BART
is a 10-minute walk away. \n\nTickets at www.mecaforpeace.org or at the
door; $15 tickets also available at the following bookstores: (East Bay)
Diesel, Pegasus/Shattuck, Pegasus/Solano, Walden Pond; (San Francisco)
Modern Times. Note: $8 Student tickets are only available directly from the
 Middle East Children's Alliance (events@mecaforpeace.org, 510-548-0542) or
at the door. This event is a benefit for children in Gaza.\n
