 Joynt, Van Ness and Geary Blvd.\n\nCODEPINK Women for Peace will hold our 
 annual public viewing of the President's State of the Union address at 
 Bobby G's and Tommy's!  President Barack Obama is scheduled to deliver his 
 first address at 6:00pm PST.\n\nIt will be a night of political bingo, key 
 word scorecards and lively discussion, including critical analysis of where 
 President Obama is escalating war and occupation and not focusing on ending 
 wars of aggression abroad and misappropriating funds. \n\nObama’s 
 domestic programs—from heath care to jobs to green initiatives—all 
 require hundreds of billions of dollars. By 2009, Congress had approved 
 over $1 trillion dollars for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.\n\nThis 
 continued emphasis on war and a bloated Pentagon budget is killing masses 
 of people around the world and making it impossible for Obama to fund 
 critical domestic programs in a time of financial crisis.\n\nPresident 
 Obama will ask Congress for $33 billion for the surge against Afghanistan, 
 at a time when the people of that country are suffering immensely while 
 Americans are unemployed without health care, public education and 
 university budgets are being cut, and families are losing their homes. 
 \n\nIn his address, Obama will call for a cap on spending on everything 
 except the military.  Spending on war and weapons is the first place we 
 should look to save money, not the last. \n
