public education threatens the destruction of edu- \ncation to all working
people in California. Millions of students \nand education workers are
being drastically affected from fur- \nloughs and layoffs to massive
increases in fees making it impos- \nsible for working class and poor
students from going to school. \nIn urban and poor working class school
districts teachers are \nfacing cutbacks on their healthcare and benefits
while there is a \nlarge increase in the size of the classes making
education even \nmore difficult. At the same time the administrators are
pushing \nprivatization and charter schools as the solution. \nThis forum
will have education workers and students as well as \ntrade unionists from
other industries. The March 4, 2010 day \nof action to defend public
education is not just about education \nworkers and students but all
working people. \nMarch 4 Public Education General Trade Union Outreach
