DESCRIPTION:Pockets Of Nuclear Sanity: A Proposal For Abolishing Nuclear Weapons
\n"The unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of
thinking, and we thus drift toward unparalleled catastrophe." Albert
Einstein \n\nDr. Martin Hellman, Professor Emeritus at Stanford, has
worked to eliminate the threat of nuclear catastrophe for many years. He
will describe his simple, but profoundly important and useable plan for
bringing critical awareness of this ultimate and ever-present danger to a
world that has largely put it out of its mind. \n\nSponsored by The
Women's International League For Peace and Freedom \n\nFree, everyone
welcome, donations cheerfully accepted! \n\nMartin Hellman is Professor
Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. While best known
for his invention of public key cryptography (the technology that protects
your credit card transactions on the Internet), his primary interest for
over twenty-five years has been how fallible human beings can survive while
possessing nuclear weapons. In 1987s, he and Anatoly Gromyko co-edited
"Breakthrough: Emerging New Thinking" which won an endorsement from Mikhail
Gorbachev. His many honors include election to the National Academy of
Engineering and three outstanding teaching awards from minority student
 organizations. \n\n
