DESCRIPTION:A revolutionary play written and performed by residents currently living,
struggling and sometimes even thriving life in Single Room Occupancy Hotels
 (SRO's) aka Poor People Housing \n \n\n$1-15.00 – no-one turned away
for lack of funds\n“Countless poor people die unknown, unremembered in
Single Room Occupancy Hotels every year,” said Robert Webber, one of the
tenant actors and writers of Hotel Voices- revolutionary production in his
scene. \nFrom El Bebug, an irony-filled, menace, confidant, and terror to
Supertenant the mythical spirit of all low-income tenants. Hotel Voices
features a cast of real life and mythical characters to take us through a
hilarious, tragic and lyrical look inside the life and struggle of people
living in poor people housing in San Francisco. \nThe original concept of
the play was launched by well-known poet, tenant organizer and childrens’
book author Tony Robles. Tony collaborated with published author, poet and
survivor of SRO’s, homelessness and founder of POOR Magazine, Tiny aka
Lisa Gray-Garcia. After receiving a grant from The San Francisco Arts
Commission and Creative Work Fund This powerful team brought in Allan
Manalo from Bindlestiff Theatre to be the resident director and began a
formal collaboration with Tenderloin Housing Clinic’s SRO Collaborative.
\nHotel Voices will take place in the site of the historic Jefferson
 Hotel’s speakeasy stage!\n\n\n
