 joined Fatah. At 14, he was incarcerated as a combatant, and sentenced to 
 about 15 years in prison. He was released in 10 1/2 years. While in prison, 
 Sulaiman decided that violence was not the path to a just, secure or 
 peaceful future. Since then, he has devoted his life's work to nonviolent, 
 joint Palestinian-Israeli action. Among his other accomplishments is the 
 co-founding of Combatants for Peace.\n \n \n \nShapira and Khatib\n \n
