DESCRIPTION:What: Candle Light Vigil for Survival\nWhen: December 11th 
 5:30pm-7pm\nWhere: San Francisco Civic Center Plaza \nacross from City 
 Hall, Polk St. btwn Grove and McAllister (Civic Center BART)\n\nOn the 
 weekend in the middle of the Copenhagen conference — Dec. 11-13\n— 
 people will be gathering at important places all over the world 
 for\ncandlelight vigils, in solemn solidarity with the citizens of 
 those\nnations who will be first to face the challenge to their very 
 survival\nposed by climate change. Eventually all of us will be 
 hard-pressed by\nrising seas, spreading drought, and temperatures too hot 
 for growing\nfood. But right now—this year, this decade—there are 
 countries being\npushed to the brink. They’re at the forefront of a fight 
 for real\nchange in Copenhagen.\n\nAs Maldives President Mohammed Nasheed 
 said last week at a summit for\nheads of state of the most vulnerable 
 nations: "We will not sign a\nglobal suicide pact, in Copenhagen or 
 anywhere." Instead, he and the\nothers called for a “survival pact,” 
 for commitments by the developed\nworld to cut emissions enough to get the 
 atmospheric concentration of\nco2 back to 350. They know the simple, 
 mathematical truth of global\nwarming: 350=Survival.\n\nIn San Francisco, 
 we will be holding a candlielight vigil to reflect\non the seriousness of 
 climate change and the political negotiations\nthat will determine our 
 future. We will have an open mic at our vigil,\ngiving attendees the 
 opportunity to express their concerns about\nglobal warming.\n\nWe 
 encourage people to bring candles, friends, and an item that\nrepresents 
 why they’re concerned about climate change. And don't\nforget your
