DESCRIPTION:Art as Propaganda Workshop\n\nArtist Hannah Blair will present slides of
the beautiful hand-embroidered banners the suffragettes created for their
protests and demonstrations. We’ll discuss tactics for making effective
banners, and introduce an ongoing banner-making workshop geared toward
demonstrations on the streets and in community spaces. Learn to sketch your
designs using gouache paint, and lend your brainpower to coming up with
powerful messages and images to use in building the social justice
movement. Further work sessions will take place prior to the Bay Area
Coalition for Our Reproductive Rights (BACORR) Day of Action for
Reproductive Justice on January 23rd, 2010. All levels of experience
welcome!\n\nThe workshop will take place at New Valencia Hall, 625 Larkin
St, Suite 202, San Francisco. The fee is $10-20 sliding scale, materials
included.\n\nFor more information, please call 415-864-1278 or email
 baradicalwomen@earthlink.net\n\n\nAbout the Art as Propaganda
Workshop:\n\nRadical Women hosts an ongoing revolutionary workshop series
that explores the interconnections between art and activism. Each month
we’ll learn a different skill and history of a radical movement, with an
opportunity for participants to create art for a specific community action.
