DESCRIPTION:Jeffrey Luers was originally sentenced to 22 years and 8 months for the
 burning of three SUV's in Eugene, Oregon to make a statement about global
 warming. Despite the fact that this action hurt no one, Jeff was sent to
 prison for a sentence clearly determined by the political nature of the
 incident.\n\nWhile in prison Jeff has remained dedicated to the
 environmental movement and continues to contribute with his writings, even
 acting as the keynote speaker at the 2005 Environmental Law Conference in
 Eugene, Oregon -via phone.\n\nIn 2007 Jeff won his appeal and his sentence
 was reduced to 10 years. He is scheduled to be released this
 December.\n\nThis is the final SF benefit for Jeff to raise funds to help
 him as he transitions back to life on the outside. Please save the date and
 come show your support!\n\nBands:\n\nVV5: SF's own, post-punk instrumental,
 featuring: guitars, 12-string, banjo, accordian, slide whistle, bass,
 percussion, and organ/piano.\n\nJimmy Shotwell: vocals & guitar of local
 punk band Shotwell, performing Billy Bragg style- solo
 acoustic.\n\nAcquitted: Three bad-asses making it work the hard way;
 guitars, crooning harmonies, a mean keyboard, and sometimes- a
 theremin.\n\nSomnolence: Oakland trio of cello, drums, & guitar; traipsing
 a line between metal, crust punk, and
 classical.\n\nhttp://freejeffluers.org/\n
