DESCRIPTION:On the evening of November 20th, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer
(LGBTQ) and allied activists will take the streets to honor those who have
been victims of transphobia and to demand an end to violence against the
transgender community. The march will follow the Transgender Day of
Remembrance Event hosted by SF TEAM at the API Wellness Center and will
conclude at the site of the legendary Compton's Cafeteria Riots.\n\nThe
march is being organized by One Struggle, One Fight (OSOF), an LGBTQ
anti-oppression organization. Organizers hope to provide a space for the
community to grieve and to deliver a message of empowerment. OSOF member
David McElhatton states: "We are congregating at Compton's because it is
the site of historic resistance to transphobic violence. This is history
that is rarely taught and needs to be celebrated. As trans people, it's
important to know that we are not just victims; we are also heroes." OSOF
also wishes to carry the message of solidarity, and a united LGBTQ
 community.\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2009/11/19/18629333.php
