\n*WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND:*\nThe country and California are in the midst of
the worst economic crisis\nsince the Great Depression. Talk of an economic
recovery for Wall Street\nbelies the reality facing millions of working
people who face work speedups,\ncuts in wages and health benefits, and
layoffs. The California budget crisis\nis being resolved on the backs of
the working class with steep cuts to\neducation, health care, and other
social services—even as Democratic and\nRepublican politicians increase
subsidies to large corporations - most of\nwhich pay no taxes - by $9
billion!\n \n*There is a way out of the crisis*, and it depends on the
ability of\nworkers, students, and all oppressed people to organize in
opposition to the\nupside down priorities which put banks, profits, prisons
and war before\neducation, health care, and human liberation. Join us for
the Northern\nCalifornia Socialist Conference, where activists from the
entire Bay Area\nwill come together to discuss the challenges we face and
 debate the way\nforward.\n \n*TICKETS\n*Tickets are $20 to $50, sliding
 scale.\nTickets are for sale at:\n \n- Modern Times, 888 Valencia St. SF\n-
