DESCRIPTION:In a small village in Chile, a coal mine, financed by Bank of America, 
 despoils the air, the water, and the fishing . You can help stop this kind 
 of ravaging of people’s lives and environment  - put your money into your 
 own community, instead of giving it to multinational banks which invest it 
 in ways you would never dream of supporting.\n\n	You are invited to come 
 hear from representatives of Santa Cruz’s  two credit unions and two 
 local banks. Staff members of the SC Community Credit Union, Bay Federal 
 Credit Union, Lighthouse Bank and SC County Bank will  talk about how they 
 support our community. You will also see local surfer and environmentalist 
 Kyle Thiermann’s terrific short video on that town in Chile and why he 
 concludes we should be banking locally. \n\n	Join us Tuesday, October 20th 
 , at 7 p.m. at the Quaker Meeting House, 225 Rooney St. (at the end of 
 Morrissey).  Our monthly WILPF meetings are open to the public. Donations
