DESCRIPTION:The View From Here is the outcome of a two-month collaboration between a 
 group of students at San Francisco's Mission High School and CCA Center 
 Student Grant recipient Sam Slater (Photography 2011). Slater encouraged 
 the students to treat the camera as a tool to harvest images, like farmers 
 use tools to harvest crops. With their 35-millimeter cameras, the students 
 "harvested" their own perspectives of their particular surroundings. This 
 evening they show them to the community at large for the first time. The 
 project will continue, as Slater has planned a billboard and a book 
 publication as well.\n\nThe project is supported by Mission Pie, Pie Ranch, 
 Mission High School, and CCA Center Student Grants.\n
