 food, big screen surf flicks, speakers from Appalachia and video of 
 anti-MTR struggles.\n\nThis Month's Sept. Wet Wednesday benefits Climate 
 Ground Zero, a group fighting mountaintop removal coal mining in 
 Appalachia.\n\nMountaintop removal coal mining is an atrocious form of 
 strip mining that literally explodes the tops of mountains to get at coal 
 buried beneath. To date, 500 mountains have been destroyed by this horrible 
 practice, over 1200 miles of streams and rivers buried by it's debris and 
 traditional Appalachian culture is being wiped out by the mining industry. 
 Every week, the Appalachian Mountains are hit with more explosive force 
 than was dropped on Hiroshima.\n\n\n
