 2008 left scores of people dead, an estimated one million families and 
 children homeless, and destroyed local crops needed for food. Presently 70% 
 of Haitians on the island are unemployed, while still others wait for 
 relief and assistance. Not granting TPS and deporting Haitians aggravates 
 the island's political, economic, social and humanitarian crisis.
