 a means of social control. The prison industrial complex also serves as a 
 pool of free labor to rent out to profit-making corporations. Inside the 
 prisons, conditions are deplorable. Inmates are forced to live in 
 overcrowded prisons, in unsafe environments, and with grossly inadequate 
 food and medical care. Many prisoners are subjected to “disciplinary” 
 actions that amount to torture. Hear a report from a therapist, who works
