DESCRIPTION:Friday, August 14. 7:00 and 9:30 PM\nSunday, August 16. 7:00 PM\nThe
Guild Theater. 2828 35th St (corner of 35th & Broadway),
 Sacramento\nAdmission: $5.00 \n\nVisioneers\n\nFirst time feature filmmaker
Jared Drake makes his directorial debut with this quirky black comedy set
in the near future, and concerning a curious spike in cases of spontaneous
human combustion. The Jeffers Corporation is the largest business in the
history of mankind, and they got that way thanks to their strict philosophy
of happiness through mindless productivity. But when people begin literally
exploding due to unhappiness, Jeffers Corporation Level Three TUNT George
Washington Winsterhammerman (Zach Galifianakis, "The Hangover") begins to
fear that his time will come sooner rather than later.\n\nGeorge lives a
comfortable yet completely uneventful life, and when he starts having
dreams in which he’s the first President of the United States, his doctor
informs him that they could be signs of impending explosion. Later, as the
dreams become more frequent and his co-workers continue to detonate, George
is prompted to reevaluate his mundane existence. Judy Greer, Missi Pyle,
and James LeGros co-star in an existential black comedy featuring music by
Tim DeLaughter of the Polyphonic Spree.\n\n"An assured first feature... the
quirky satire wears its influences on its dystopian sleeve, but an amiable
cast and some surprising poignancy add up to Orwell that ends well." - The
Hollywood Reporter\n\n"A fantastic trip in the dark corners of an ordinary
life. ...a very Terry Gilliam feel to it, almost along the lines of
Brazil." - popsyndicate\n\n"A good movie to see for anyone with a deep
distrust of corporate America and an absurdist sense of humor." - Quiet
Earth\n\nPreceeding "Visionners" - the animated short film, "The Terrible
Thing of Alpha-9" which itself is worth the price of admission!!\n\n\n\n
