DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Scott Mattoon\nChief Architect Western U.S. Sales for Sun\nBoard
 of Directors Architecture for
 Humanity\nhttp://blogs.sun.com/downstream/\n\nLast month, Scott Mattoon
shared his thoughts on the Role of Open Source Technology and
Sustainability in San Francisco. He did a great job connecting the dots
between open source technology and (very) current social changes that are
making a huge impact on the world. We asked him to join us again in Silicon
Valley for July, and he said yes!\n \nScott serves on the Board of
Directors of Architecture for Humanity and works for Sun Microsystems as
Chief Architect for Western U.S. Sales. He is an active advocate for open
source and sustainable business. Scott is technical liaison for Sun to the
TED community and serves as lead systems architect for Sun's support of TED
prize winners Cameron Sinclair, Neil Turok and Bill Clinton. A student of
sustainability, Scott stitches ecological impact awareness, energy
analysis, and long term thinking into everything he does. In addition to
his time at Sun, Scott's career has spanned several leadership positions
with companies helping to shape business and society on the Internet
including 4charity.com, Live365.com, Cybersource, and NeXT. A glimpse of
his sensibilities relating to open source and sustainable business are
revealed on his downstream blog.\n\nEcoTuesday is a forum for sustainable
business leaders to come together to network, collaborate, and engage with
one another in a structured environment. Each month EcoTuesday features
opportunities for sustainable business leaders to network and learn about
current issues from an innovative speaker and from one another. During the
introduction circle, all participants share one sentence about their
business and a passion or interest around sustainability, which provides
participants an opportunity to learn about each other in order to focus
their networking efforts for the rest of the evening.\n
