DESCRIPTION:Each Step a Prayer Towards World Peace & a Nuclear Free Future: Potluck &
Program\n\nThis is an opportunity for all people to come together in a
nonviolent, spiritually motivated gathering. The Walkers are calling
attention to the 2010 Nonproliferation Treaty Conference at the United
Nations. With increased support of public opinion, Pres. Obama and the new
Administration will be encouraged to abolish the use of nuclear weapons.
The walk began on July 6 at Trinity, the first testing site of the atomic
bomb, and then went to Los Alamos both in New Mexico. Here they will walk
and pray at Livermore, (the H-bomb Lab) and continue on to Bangor Trident
Base in Washington state for Hiroshima and Nagasaki Days.\n\n\nCo-sponsors
BFUU Social Justice Ctee, Indian People Organizing for Change, Catholic
Workers, and Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Order, among others.\n$5-10
Donation appreciated. No one turned away for lack of funds.\nWheelchair
