DESCRIPTION:ARTSFEST is a fun-filled, family-oriented street fair that will feature a
great line-up of diverse music, performances, art activities, artist
booths, info tables from various community groups, art-related vendors and
other retailers. There will be art activities for children, a silkscreen
demonstration, and sidewalk chalk drawing. In the Art94124 Gallery there
will be a benefit exhibit auction with a variety of artwork for
sale.\n\nSome additional ARTSFEST highlights will include: \n\nCyclecide
and Los Banos . The Heavy Pedal Cyclecide Bike Rodeo is a club of
alter-bike mechanics who love bikes and building stuff. In the name of art
and carnival-like merriment they will be constructing some of their
“pedal powered kinetic sculpture” along Fairfax Street, and will bring
some of their zany altered bikes. Their mariachi-country-punk band Los
Banos will provide a lively \nbackdrop for a portion of the festivities.
\n\nThe Charles Unger Experience. Anyone who has followed the Bay Area Jazz
scene knows Charles Unger as one of the most distinguished \nsax players
around. Sometimes referred to as “one of San Francisco’s best jazz
musicians” Charles will be joined by a number of other talented jazz
players, including Sam Peoples. “The Charles Unger Experience generates
exciting jazz on many different levels, where familiar genres stream forth
on a collision course with improvisation to produce a new musical
experience for both the artist and the audience.” \n\nBullet Proof Space
Travelers | The Bullet Proof Space Travelers, comprised of an all-star cast
of Bay Area DJ’s including DJ Quest, Eddie K, \nEddie Def, DJ Marz, and
DJ Cue, are one of the Bay Area’s longest running scratch teams, and are
arguably one of the most prolific crews out \nthere. \n\nThe Seastrunk
Brothers. are a singing quartet of brothers who grew up in the Bayview. The
men—typically in their trademark red shirts and black pants—are true
performers with their smooth voices, Tempation-like steps, and tight
choreography. \n\nDanza Eztli Xicauha. Aztec dance group Danza Eztli
Xicauha (which means strong blood) are traditional Aztec dancers originally
from \nMexico, and now reside throughout the Bay Area. \n\nCougar Cadet
Corps. This award-winning drum corps includes elementary and high school
students from around the Bay Area. Based \nin Alameda, the mission of the
group is to motivate youth to become better citizens, to develop leadership
skills, and to enhance their \ncreative abilities. \n\nART 94124’s
One-Year Anniversary Benefit Exhibit . In the ART 94124 GALLERY will be a
One-Year Anniversary Benefit Exhibit that will \nopen at ARTSFEST, and will
be on view from June 6 through July 3.The pieces will be available via a
