DESCRIPTION:Day of Decision for Prop 8 on Tuesday, May 26th! \nCelebrate OR Protest,
be ready to be a part of the struggle!\n10am Meet on the steps of City Hall
to hear the ruling.\n\nIf the Court overturns Prop 8, we'll have a
spontaneous street party to celebrate a victory in the road towards full
civil rights. But if they uphold Prop 8, we'll take to the streets with One
Struggle, One Fight and participate in an act of civil disobedience with
the message SEPARATE IS NOT EQUAL. \nCitywide demonstration at 5pm at City
Hall (rally and march to Yerba Buena Gardens)!\n\nAnd join the the ISO the
day after for a panel discussion on:\n\n\nSeparate is Not Equal! \nFrom
Defeating Prop 8 to Ending DOMA, Passing ENDA and Beyond\n\nWednesday, May
 27 @ 7pm\n110 Capp St. (b/t 16th & 17th Streets, near 16th St. BART)\nSan
Francisco\n\nSpeakers:\nKip Williams, member of One Struggle, One Fight and
activist organizer\nJessica Hansen-Weaver, ISO member and activist in the
struggle\n\nOn Tuesday, May 26th, the California Supreme Court will rule
either to uphold or strike down Prop 8, the discriminatory and homophobic
legislation passed in November 2008. Whether the court rules on the side
of equal rights and strikes down Prop 8 or it stands in bigotry (despite
the tide of popular opinion changing in favor of same-sex marriage), what
we know for sure is that the fight for gay rights will continue: the
Defense of Marriage Act is still on the books, Don't Ask Don't Tell is
still the policy in the military and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act
(ENDA) has yet to include Transgender people or be passed in congress.
Furthermore, if the court stands on the side of bigotry, then activists
will rally and bring a ballot proposition to legalize same-sex marriage in
2010--because the time is now, not later, to fight for and achieve equal
and full civil rights for all. Come to this panel discussion with
activists from the movement who will have first-hand accounts of the
struggle and the history, and ideas for next steps. \n\nAll are
welcome. For more information, email missioniso@yahoo. com.\n\n\nSponsored
