 friends.\nEach year on Memorial Day, we walk together\nin silent reflective 
 meditation for peace...in remembrance of all\nwho have lost their lives to 
 the violence of war.\n______________________\n \nPlease join us for 
 a\nSILENT MEMORIAL PEACE WALK\nWhen: Memorial Day, Monday May 25 – 
 11am\nWhere: Gather at Mission Plaza, by Holy Cross Church, in\nSanta Cruz 
 \n \nWhat: A silent reflective walk for PEACE.* Following a short welcome & 
 orientation, we'll walk in silent procession for about an hour...past the 
 river & along Pacific Avenue through downtown. Walk ends at Mission Plaza 
 once more, with a brief closing circle.\n \nWho: People of all beliefs, 
 cultures, and ages who wish to\nstrengthen inner peace and contribute to 
 creating a\nmore peaceful world.\n \nWhy: Remembering lives lost (both 
 soldiers & civilians) in continuing devastation from the violence of war. 
 The way to peace is through cultivating peace in our hearts, in our 
 actions, and in the world. May our nation's leaders turn away\nfrom war 
 toward peaceful resolutions.\n \nWhat: *BRING FLOWERS instead of slogan 
 signs. Group-identifying signs and banners are welcome, as are peace flags, 
 earth flags, etc. Wear white and/or black if possible (not required). Bring 
 water/hat/sunscreen.\n \n_________________\n \nOur 5th community SILENT 
 PEACE WALK\nsponsored by Santa Cruz Buddhist Peace Fellowship,\ntogether 
 with a broad base of local peace and social justice organizations, plus a 
 growing interfaith network of Santa Cruz spiritual communities.\n \nContact
