 Shukla\n\n\nDr. Abhay Shukla has coordinated the People's Health Movement - 
 India (Jan Swasthya Abhiyan) during 2003-2008 and is one of its national 
 joint convenors.  He participated in preparing the draft National Health 
 Act.\n\nA physician by training, Dr. Shukla is currently coordinator of the 
 independent public health organisation, SATHI-CEHAT based in Pune.  He is a 
 member of the advisory group for community action for the National Rural 
 Health Mission, and member of the core group of NGOs of the National Human 
 Rights Commission (NHRC) in India.\n\nAmong his many publications, he is 
 author of The Rights Approach to Health and Health Care.\n\n\nReception at
