ticket holders. Entry garden located at 236 Sheldon Avenue.\n\nThe 11th
annual Music in the Gardens Tour takes place this year on Sunday, May 24,
from 1 to 5 pm. As in previous years, we feature 5 of the area's finest
private gardens, with snacks, drinks, and wine at each location. 5
different music groups complement the natural splendor and culinary
selections with musical offerings spanning a range of folk and ethnic
styles. This event is a fundraiser and proceeds benefit the continued
operation of the Baroque Festival's annual concert season. Tickets are
$30.\n \nGardens & Music: This year's tour features 1 garden on the upper
Santa Cruz Westside, 2 Seabright neighborhood locations within walking
distance from each other, 1 garden near Pleasure Point, and 1 garden with
ocean view in La Selva Beach. Fruits and vegetables grow in Garden 1 using
only organic gardening techniques. Visitors will enjoy the sounds of
Indonesian flute (suling) played by Burhan Sukarna accompanied by zither.
Garden 2 is inhabited by exotic flowers and rare plant species, along with
a greenhouse and a magnificent pond. Jazz A will be offering music of the
1930s and 40s. A mixture of elements, Garden 3 features roses, organic
herbs and vegetables, a pond with water lilies and a deck for entertaining.
Italian mandolin music will fill the air with the mandolin duo Seabright
Serenaders (Irene Herrmann & Paul Rangell). Garden 4 was created over the
course of 30 years by its landscape designer and artist owner, including
plants from travels and cuttings from personal friends, providing a very
personal landscape. Originally from Burkina Faso, Salif Kone, a master
musician and story teller by family tradition, will perform offer music
with balafon (African zylophone) and voice. Finally, Garden 5 is set amidst
rolling hills dotted with oaks and pines and has a breathtaking view of the
ocean. The sounds of folk music artist Neal Hellman's dulcimer will
complement this garden's Californian splendor.\n \n*** TICKETS available in
