DESCRIPTION:Judge Claudia Morcom of the Wayne County, Michigan Circuit Court (ret.), 
 will report on her work for victims of Agent Orange in the recent Paris 
 session of The International People’s Tribunal of Conscience hearing the 
 case of The People of Viet Nam and People of Conscience vs. The United 
 States of America and Dow Chemical, Monsanto, Uniroyal, Diamond Shamrock, 
 Occidental, et al. The Tribunal was convened by the International 
 Association of Democratic Lawyers and includes Judge Juan Guzman, who 
 prosecuted Augusto Pinochet of Chile, and Indian Supreme Court Judge 
 Jitendra Sharna. \n\nJudge Morcom will also report on her participation in 
 the Durban II U.N. Conference Against Racism (held in Geneva, April 20-24), 
 where she participated with 40 other NonGovernmental Organizations.\n\nIn 
 1964 Judge Morcom was the first African American to lead the National 
 Lawyers Guild Committee to Assist Southern Lawyers registering African 
 Americans to vote.\n\nAlso featuring spoken word by Javier of Young Playaz 
 and music by Elliot Kenin and his Banjo. \n\nMeiklejohn Civil Liberties 
 Institute invites the public to attend. May 31st, 2009, 5PM at 1419 Grant 
 St. in Berkeley. \n\n\n
