DESCRIPTION:\nOn Friday, May 8 at 8 PM Copwatch will be having another movie night.
We'll be showing the documentary "Every Mother's Son" at 8 PM at the
 Grassroots House.\n\nHere's a description of the film:\n\n"EVERY MOTHER'S
SON is a portrait of three women who have paid the ultimate price for the
aggressive, "zero tolerance" policing practices that swept through American
cities during the 1990's - each lost an unarmed child at the hands of the
law. Over the course of seven years Tami Gold and Kelly Anderson followed
Iris Baez, Kadiatou Diallo and Doris Busch Boskey as they negotiated the
difficult journey from individual trauma to collective action. Dealing with
the repercussions of their children's deaths upon their lives, they come
together and learn how to organize within their communities and speak out
about the need to rethink and reform policing."\n\nThey'll be popcorn,
drinks, and other snacks and we'll be discussing the lessons for the Oscar
Grant movement to draw from these earlier responses to police
 murder.\n\nCome on out!!\n
