DESCRIPTION:Although over 3 million Americans who stutter, most people actually know 
 very little about stuttering.  This lack of awareness is why people who 
 stutter meet discrimination, prejudice, and at times, social isolation.  
 People who stutter represent a diverse group of individuals of different 
 occupations and accomplishments.  Famous people who stutter include actor, 
 James Earl Jones, reporter, John Stossel, and actress, Marilyn Monroe.   \n 
 \nAlliant International University is co-sponsoring a presentation with the 
 National Stuttering Association to raise awareness about the challenges 
 that people who stutter experience.  The event is open to the Alliant 
 International University community as well as the general public.  Children 
 and teens who stutter, along with their parents, are encouraged to attend.  
 The presentation will include a panel of people who stutter sharing their 
 personal experience and professional expertise.  Topics to be included are: 
 possible origins of stuttering, myths about stuttering (including 
 psychological theories), and common experiences of people who stutter.  \n 
 \nThe panel will be facilitated by Nina Ghiselli , Psy.D. and Gina Davis.  
 Dr. Ghiselli is a psychologist and educator who stutters.  Ms. Davis is a 
 student who stutters at the California School of Professional Psychology at 
 Alliant International University .  \n\nThe National Stuttering Association 
 is the nation’s largest support organization for people who stutter, with 
 more than 80 local support groups including several in Northern
