DESCRIPTION:The first meeting of Slow Food San Francisco's School Lunch Working Group 
 brought together 19 parents, teachers, nutritionists, policy experts, 
 medical students and Slow Food members for a conversation about school 
 lunch reform. The group's expertise and enthusiasm was humbling and 
 inspiring. Though school lunch is a challenging and very complex issue, and 
 though we'll be facing serious hurdles in influencing the Child Nutrition 
 Act this year, everyone went home full of hope. We recognize that many 
 dedicated teachers, food directors and administrators have been working 
 tirelessly on this issue for many years, and they've made substantial 
 progress. We now want to back them up by giving voice to a broad citizens' 
 movement to ensure every school in the Bay Area and beyond can serve its
