DESCRIPTION:Emergency Action Against Police Brutality\n\nPolice Brutality is an ongoing 
 problem not only in San Francisco but in all cities across the US. It's 
 usually inflicted on working class and poverty class (jobless and homeless) 
 people and mostly in Black and Brown communities.\n\nThis is a response to 
 San Francisco police brutally assaulting peaceful marchers and 
 demonstrators on two recent occasions. The first was on 3/16/09 at the 
 Tristan Anderson/Palestine Solidarity Rally at the Israeli Consulate, and 
 then on 3/21/09 during the 6th anniversary of the Iraq War/Occupation near 
 and at the Civic Center.\n\nThe SFPD will be held accountable when they 
 harass, terrorize, and use brutal force on the public. It's not only an 
 extreme abuse of power, but also an usurpation of our First Amendment 
 rights. We demand that these recent acts of police brutality be addressed 
 and denounced not only by the SFPD, but also by local government and city 
 officials in order to inspire public confidence concerning the protection 
 of constitutional rights and the health and safety of our communities.\n
