DESCRIPTION:The Focus of This Year's Summit\nThis year, the Summit will focus on the
critical role of transportation and land use in the health of our economy,
pocketbooks, and planet - and highlight solutions that can help on all
three fronts.\n\nBetween the devastated stock market, unemployment rates,
and impending climate doom, it's a wonder any of us get out of bed in the
morning. But we do - and it's because we sense that all three of these
challenges can be addressed by the very things we're working for:
world-class public transportation and walkable communities in the Bay Area
and beyond. \n\nThis Year's Keynote Speaker: Scott Bernstein\nScott
Bernstein, founder and president of the Chicago-based Center for
Neighborhood Technology, will give this year's keynote. His engaging
presentation will focus on the combined cost burden of housing and
transportation in the Bay Area. \n\nHow to Register\nRegister online or
call TransForm's office at 510-740-3150. Registration is just $20 if you
register before May 1. Individual members of TransForm can attend for just
$15 anytime.\n\nWho Comes to the Summit\nEach year, the Summit brings
together over 300 non-profit and labor leaders, community activists, agency
staff, legislators, students, and policy practitioners from throughout the
Bay Area looking for the tools, knowledge, inspiration, and connections
needed to make change in their communities and beyond. \n\n\n
