 In recognition of a week dedicated to the importance of transparency in 
 government, California Common Cause, Sacramento Media Group, Access 
 Sacramento and the League of Women Voters of Sacramento County are hosting 
 a webcast viewing of “Opening Doors: Finding the Keys to Government 
 Information," a Washington, D.C. expert panel discussing open government 
 and the importance of access to information. \n\nWhat:  Webcast viewing of 
 “Opening Doors: Finding the Keys to Government Information,” 
 Washington, D.C. Audience members have opportunities to ask questions of 
 panelists.  Discussion to follow.\n\nWho:    Common Cause, Sacramento Media

 Sacramento\n\nThis event is one of many organized across the country in 
 recognition of Sunshine Week 2009 - a national initiative about the 
 importance of open government and freedom of information. Sunshine Sunday 
 began with the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors in 2002 as a response 
 to overzealous legislation that would have removed public information from 
 view under the guise of appropriate post-9/11 response. The American 
 Society of Newspaper Editors led the first nationwide Sunshine Week and the 
 League of Women Voters published, “Looking for Sunshine, Protecting Your 
 Right to Know” as part of the 2006 Sunshine Week efforts.  \n
