DESCRIPTION:The Hungry Owl Project is thrilled to announce our first ever “Birds of
Prey” event at the Marin Art & Garden Center’s Garden Room in Ross.
We’ll provide information on San Francisco Bay Area hawks, you’ll see
an amazing live falcon flight demonstration, and learn about our Raptor
Recovery program. There will be nature themed fine art and photography for
sale by local artists, AND you’ll have the opportunity to see live
raptors up close! We’ll share information and photos from our successful
activities. This is your chance to find out about local birds of prey,
drink wine, have fun, and learn what you can do to support them. Nest
boxes – including one for the local species of American Kestrel, will be
available for sale. Join us for a fun afternoon event featuring hors de
oeuvres, local wine, and other beverages. All food and drink will be served
in and on earth friendly products. This event is a fundraiser to continue
our work for raptors in the Bay Area and to provide public outreach about
these incredible and beneficial birds. Reservations are $45 per person.\nAn
entertaining presentation will be given by the dynamic Allen Fish, Director
of the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory. Anne Ardillo, a passionate
volunteer for the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory and Hungry Owl Project,
will share her experiences from Baskets for Birds- the Hungry Owl
Project’s Raptor Rescue program.\nThe mission of the Hungry Owl Project
is to reduce the need for harmful pesticides and rodenticides by
encouraging natural predators, through conservation of habitat, erecting
nest boxes when appropriate, through research and education, and providing
a resource of help and information on alternative methods of sustainable
pest management.\n\nThe Hungry Owl Project is a program of WildCare
 (www.wildcarebayarea.org ), a non-profit wildlife hospital and education
center in San Rafael which serves the San Francisco Bay Area. \n\n
