 community through television, social life through computers, talk through 
 cell phones, we see necessity in direct, unmediated, communication. There 
 are no screens between you and the poet. There are no buttons to click. 
 This is the real deal—people gathering together to share their stories. 
 This is the modern incarnation of the oral tradition. In the face of a 
 culture that seeks to turn life into a commodity, this is the sustenance
