 John Gibler will lead a presentation and dialogue about Mexico: its ongoing 
 history of colonization and class struggle, and its powerful undercurrents 
 and manifestations of resistance. Through historical analysis and social 
 chronicle, John will discuss the current-day politics of Mexico, its naked, 
 shocking brutality, as well the unextinguished courage and humanity of its 
 dispossessed and destitute in their struggle for freedom and justice. 
 \nJohn Gibler, author of Mexico Unconquered: Chronicles of Power and 
 Revolt, newly released by City Lights Books, is a writer and Global 
 Exchange human rights fellow in Mexico who has been covering social 
 movements there since January 1st, 2006. He is also correspondent for 
 Pacifica Radio's KPFA in Mexico. He has reported on the ground from the 
 Zapatistas Other Campaign, the protests against electoral fraud in Mexico 
 City, and the uprising in Oaxaca. \n\n\n
