DESCRIPTION:What: An exhibition of performing arts in conjunction with the BACORR 
 protest against the anti-choice and anti-marriage march along the 
 Embarcadero from Justin Herman Plaza to Marina Green. Artists will perform 
 on the theme of oppression of women or the attempts by religious 
 organizations to impose their “values” on our laws, especially on 
 abortion and same-sex marriage.\n\nWho: acoustic musicians, poets, comics, 
 clowns, mimes, performance artists, painters, rappers, actors, sculptors 
 and anyone who wishes to artistically express their support for equal 
 rights for all.\n\nWhere: The sidewalks along Embarcadero from Justin 
 Hermann Plaza to Marina Green.\n\nWhen: Saturday, January 24 from 10 am 
 onward\n\nWhat you have to do: just let us know you are showing up. If the 
 turnout is going to be huge, we’ll suggest a place for each performance, 
 but for now it is first-come, first shown. The anti-choice march is 
 expected to involve 15,000 people, along a long route. We suggest that 
 artists bring cards with information about themselves and their websites, 
 with something commemorating this historic protest. Give them away and you 
 might find a new audience!\n\nWhen the Catholic Church sends their Crusade 
 to San Francisco to try to eliminate a woman’s right to choose and our 
 freedom to marry the partner of our choice we are going to greet them with 
 an outburst of creativity! Instead of insults, we will hurl artistic 
 performances at them. We will captivate the spectators and tourists, and, 
 of course, the media, so the message of equal rights will dominate the 
 day.\n\nIt is easy to find things to parody or expose, from burning people 
 at the stake, to the Crusades, the Inquisition, Sex Scandals, and 100,000 
 hypocrisies. This is a great chance to show yourself to and audience that 
 will include major national media. And we want everyone looking at you, not 
 the marchers. Carpe Diem!\n
