DESCRIPTION:The Filipino/American Coalition for Environmental Solidarity (FACES)
presents the annual balikbayan event:\n\nPANDACAN: LEGACY OF PRIDE AND
POLLUTION\n\nJoin FACES for an evening of live music, storytelling, and
multimedia arts bearing witness to Pandacan. \n\nMore than 84,000 Filipinos
live in Pandacan, the heart of Metro Manila. Families, students and
businesses live in the vicinity of Pandacan's massive oil depots and face
daily threats to their health and safety. Yet Pandacan is more than a toxic
site - it is the proud birthplace of Filipino opera, balagtasan poetry,
national revolutionaries, and communities' struggles for
justice.\n\nFeaturing live zarzuela music, testimonials from FACES
solidarity trip participants, guest speakers, and an exhibit highlighting
Pandacan's rich history, current struggles and future
 possibilities.\n\nContact: Aileen Suzara, info@facessolidarity.org\n\nFor
more info and RSVP: http://pandacan.eventbrite.com/\n\nCost: Open to the
public, donations gladly accepted, suggested sliding scale $7-30.
