 Get involved with Rising Tide Bay Area.  January 20th is a day to begin 
 working towards community, autonomy and sustainable living.\n\nWhile the 
 Beltway elite and the fossil fuel empire are celebrating more business as 
 usual in the corridors of power, we'll be discussing ways to uproot the 
 true causes of climate change and build a better world.\n\nOn Jan. 20th, 
 Rising Tide Bay Area is having a general meeting and orientation for 
 interested people.  We'll show some short videos of recent climate actions 
 and the Tennessee coal disaster and have a discussion about upcoming events 
 in washington D.C., San Francisco and Copenhagen. \n\nPlug in to find out 
 ways to get more involved in radical climate organizing in the Bay.  
 \n\nAbout Rising Tide\nRising Tide is an international network born out of 
 the conviction that corporate-friendly and state-sponsored “solutions” 
 to climate change will not save us.  \n\nRising Tide is a grassroots 
 network of groups and individuals who take direct action to confront the 
 roots causes of climate change and promote local, community-based solutions 
 to the climate crisis.\n\nRising Tide North America’s strategy is based 
 on a no-compromise approach of stopping the extraction of more fossil fuels 
 and preventing the construction of new fossil fuel infrastructure. We must 
 phase out our current fossil fuel use and make a just transition to 
 sustainable ways of living.\n\nRising Tide builds strong links with those 
 who are already being affected by climate change, and to ally ourselves 
 with environmental justice groups fighting pollution from refineries, power 
 plants and coal processing facilities.\n
