DESCRIPTION:Laura's Law is is a California state statute that allows for court-ordered 
 outpatient commitment of mental health clients who refuse voluntary 
 treatment with psychotropic medications.  It was renewed this year.  It is 
 described by some critics as "needles on wheels".  See

 activist Kathie Zetlin will discuss forced drugging, the situation in 
 Berkeley and around the state, and upcoming struggles against toxic 
 psychiatry.\n\nShe is an attorney MSW, a former mental health paients 
 rights advocate and social worker with seniors, CPS, and persons residing 
 in boards and care homes.  She has developed workshops on informed consent 
 and the rights of mental health patients.  She specializes in attempting to 
 assure people get services without giving up civil rights.  She describes 
 herself as "passionate and pissed off" on issues of informed consent and

 psychiatric institution. He became a psychiatric survivor movement leader 
 in 1971, and later became an attorney. He has served on the board of
