 Auction will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the Sonoma Community 
 Center, 276 East Napa Street, Sonoma. Preview is 12 noon to 1 pm. Auction 
 begins at 1:00 pm. Admission is free.\n\nItems up for auction include many 
 rare books, first editions—many signed by the author, including books by 
 President-Elect Barack Obama (signed!), Sherman Alexie, Jean M. Auel, Dave

 London Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of 
 the literary works of Jack London. All the proceeds from this auction — 
 its sole fundraiser of the year — are used to underwrite Scholarship 
 Writing Contests for high school students throughout the United States and 
 to provide supplementary teaching materials at no cost to requesting 
 teachers and educators. \n\nOn Saturday evening, the Foundation will host 
 its 39th annual Jack London Birthday Banquet, celebrating Jack's 133rd 
 birthday. This year the theme is the "Martin Eden". The banquet is held at 
 the Quail Inn in Oakmont, and reservations are required. Reservations:
