DESCRIPTION:Workshop participants will be charged with a mission - a mission to support
and advocate for more local food consumption. We’ll outline the Bay
Area’s food system, get hands-on in determining the location of prime
sources for local foods, discuss the criteria that businesses listed in our
Bay Area Local Food Guide (the local foodie bible) must adhere to, and
provide concrete actions for creating change in your diet and community.
You’ll receive membership in the Community Alliance with Family Farmers
(CAFF), access to a network of like-minded foodies, fun incentives to keep
you active in the Alliance, and of course food & drink. Guest speaker Jason
Mark, co-manager of Alemany Farm and co-author of Building the Green
Economy: Success Stories from the Grassroots, will offer his thoughts on
the opportunities and challenges of urban food production.\n\nCost: $50
 membership donation to CAFF\n
