DESCRIPTION:RALPH NADER TO HOLD RALLY AND PRESS CONFERENCE, AT THE SANTA CRUZ CIVIC
AUDITORIUM\n\nOn Monday, September 29th at 7:30 pm, Independent
Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader will be speaking at the Santa Cruz Civic
Auditorium, 307 Church St\nSanta Cruz, CA 95060\n\nThe theme of the Santa
Cruz rally, "Open the Debates," reflects the Nader/Gonzalez Campaign's call
for inclusive, democratic Presidential debates. Right now,\n\nthey are
limited to the candidates from the two corporate parties. The debates are
controlled by the so-called Commission on Presidential Debates, a
private\n\ncorporation which was created by the Democratic and Republican
Parties in 1987, which Walter Cronkite called an "unconscionable fraud"
because the CPD format\n\n"defies meaningful discourse."\nIn addition, the
candidates will speak about the growing, multifarious crisis California
residents confront, starting with a tanking economy,
increasing\n\nenvironmental pollution, offshore drilling and a health care
system broken beyond repair.\n\nWHO: Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez\n\nWHAT:
