DESCRIPTION:On the Intersection of Media and Community\nMonday, September 15 at 7
p.m.\nModern Times Bookstore, 888 Valencia Street (at 20th), San Francisco,
415-282-9246\n\nThis year, PM Press published my pamphlet called, "Become
the Media: A Critical History of Clamor Magazine." The booklet is largely
about my experience working on the project, and some observations about
what our strengths and weaknesses were - and what lessons I hope others
will learn. \n\nOne of the key motivations of Clamor was to support
community -- both by providing a forum in which progressives and radicals
could share, strategize, celebrate, and criticize, as well as providing new
voices access to a media outlet. \n\nPlease join me for a talk on the
intersection of independent media and radical communities. I'll talk for a
few minutes on the history of the magazine, and then contributors from
throughout our seven-year run will speak on their experience with
independent media and the current work. \n\nSpecial guests include: Julia
Serano, Eric Zassenhaus, Rachel Fudge, Gordon Zola, Cole Krawitz, Roxanne
Dunbar Ortiz, Dorian Katz, Andrew Stelzer, and others TBA!\n\nMore on the
 pamphlet here: \nhttp://www.akpress.org/2008/items/becomingthemedia\n\nSee
 you there!\n\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2008/09/09/18534695.php
