Rondón and producer Marité Ugás, a wine reception, a Don Julio tequila
tasting, tapas, and live music!\n\nFILM SYNOPSIS: For La Niña, narrator of
Postcards from Leningrad, being born into a socialist revolution in 1960s
Venezuela wasn't easy. She and her cousin Teo have learned how to live a
clandestine life, making an ongoing game out of survival, with everything
from code names and creative disguises to turning themselves invisible and
devising fantastic escape plans. Using their imaginations, they invent
superhero revolutionaries and help their families survive the scariest
realities of guerrilla warfare, including betrayal and death. A visual
collage with playful animation and nostalgic footage of revolutionary zeal,
the film injects both humor and pathos into a story where wild
imaginations, memories, madness, white lies, and grief all mix seamlessly
in a child's reality. Nominated by Venezuela for the Oscars 2008, nominated
by Venezuela for Goyas 2008 (Spanish Oscar), winner Best Film Biarritz Film
Festival. Venezuela, 2007, 75 minutes. Film in Spanish with English
 subtitles\n\nTICKETS: $35 General Admission / $30
