 and new or published writers who want to write a book that will help change 
 the world. M*A*S*H star Mike "B.J." Farrell, author of Just Call Me Mike: A 
 Journey to Actor and Activist, and Gay Hendricks, author of the bestseller 
 Conscious Loving, will be keynoters.\n\nRegistration includes two 
 breakfasts, two lunches, the keynote talks, more than 35 breakout sessions, 
 and social events. Writers can register online and learn more at

 agents and publishers say yes\n* Find out how to get free time and space 
 online and off to promote their book \n* Why proposals have to be

 writing\n* Have the chance to pitch their book to agents and editors   \n* 
 Network with authors, editors, and agents from both coasts\n* Meet 
 freelance editors and learn how they can speed up the process\n\nThe topics 
 speakers will discuss include activism, the environment, the future of 
 cities, criminal justice, food, health, the law, personal development, 
 politics, social change, spirituality, and the workplace. \n\nOther 
 speakers include Chris Carlsson (Nowtopia), Susan Griffin (Wrestling with 
 the Angel of Democracy), and Allan Hamilton, M.D. (The Scalpel and the 
 Soul), Marisa Handler (Loyal to the Sky: Notes from an Activist), Wes 
 'Scoop' Nisker (Crazy Wisdom Saves the World Again).\n\nAccording to 
 conference cofounder and literary agent Mike Larsen, "Books will be 
 essential tools for meeting the challenges we face. The right books will 
 change the world, and books that change America change the world, because 
 America is leading the world into the future. The conference hopes to 
 inspire and empower writers to become change agents and write those books."
